Hyderabad: Amidst speculation about a possible decision on Telangana, AICC president, Sonia Gandhi, in an unusual way, is giving much of his time to the State Congress leaders to take stock of the political situation in Andhra Pradesh.  

The State Congress leaders, who often wait days for their appointment, are now able to fulfill its supreme party as soon as they arrive in Delhi. Although many of them say they are in New Delhi, Pranab Mukherjee, to congratulate once he is elected President, who is taking care enough to seek an appointment with Sonia Gandhi.

The last meeting with the AICC president was a member of Rajya Sabha K Chiranjeevi, who had a one-on-one with her for over half an hour on Wednesday. Sources said Chiranjeevi had submitted a report to Sonia Gandhi in the party's electoral defeat. Chief Minister Kiran Reddy and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana asked to be in Delhi on Thursday to meet the party brass. Meanwhile, Telangana Congress of Deputies also intensified lobby for statehood for the region.

Jaipal Reddy has become the rallying point for them. Interestingly, the former minister JC Diwakar of Ramos, who met Sonia on Wednesday said the AICC president had said it would take a decision in favor of Telangana soon.
