Pranab Mukherjee rebukes Sangma says, Rashtrapati Bhavan used as dumping ground

Bhubaneswar: In Central Politics,UPA presidential candidate, Pranab Mukherjee, on Wednesday gave a blow to his opponent's statement that PA Sangma Rashtrapati Bhavan was being used as a "dumping ground" for the "no" former finance union minister .

"If I failed or succeeded, no doubt posterity will judge. I would not comment on it. But I do not think Rashtrapati Bhavan in a landfill. Such phrases should not be used,"
Pranab Mukherjee told mediapersons in response to a query.

In central politics Pranab Mukherjee,has to "express gratitude" to the states congressional leaders, however, sidestepped a question about Odisha CM and BJD president Naveen Patnaik charge that he had distributed the funds in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal as Union finance minister with an eye on the survey of president. "I can not answer this question, I am no longer in government. This question can be asked in Parliament, the government or through Act Right to Information," he said.


Noting that several members of UPA and non-UPA parties given support to him in central politics, Pranab Mukherjee expects Mamata Banerjee's TMC also launch its weight behind him. "I understand that she would make a decision three or four days before the election. I can only hope that in this matter," he said in response to how hope was in bagging votes TMC.

Earlier, speaking to congressional leaders, including MLAs and MPs, 77 years old, criticized his rival (Sangma) in the presidential race without any name. "The President's task is to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. Trivalise We should not try. We will maintain the dignity of high office," he said, adding: "Yes, there will be the opposition .... discord in a democracy. However, should not degenerate (surveys) to defame or launch a smear campaign. "He also took a dig at the so-called indirect Sangma for "conscience vote", said 99 percent of the members of the Electoral College to the presidential election were the nominees of political parties.
