World XI team tour postponed to Pakistan

KARACHI: A tour planned by a World XI to Pakistan to play two Twenty20 matches in an effort to revive international cricket in the country has been postponed for the second time this year.

According to organizers, the World XI would play two matches in Karachi on August 5 and 6 at the National Stadium, but these games have been postponed until October.

Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah, the sports minister of Sindh province and a well-known cricket administrator and organizer, who was behind the World XI matches, said the postponement was due to the unavailability of the players Pakistanis.

"We want the whole team of Pakistan to play these two games, which are very important for Pakistan cricket. And Cricket Board Pakistan (PCB) has informed us that this can only be possible after the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka, "said Shah.

Intikhab Alam from the PCB called me and informed me that if we go ahead with the matches as scheduled on August 5 and 6, some players may not be available to play the two games, "he said.

The organizers have invited former stars or recently retired players of Sri Lanka, South Africa and other nations for the games that include players like Sanath Jayasuriya, Justin Kemp, Nicky Boje, Andre Nel, Tatenda Taibu and others.

Initially the organizers had announced that they would be holding parties in May, but the PCB entered the scene and refused to give permission to its players for the games, because, said , and his organizing committee had ido and decided everything without asking the permission of the board.

But after Shah met with President of PCBs, Zaka Ashraf was not a patch and the board agreed to give permission for parties and also help organize these games Shah for the release of national team members.

But while Shah said that the parties will be held in October, cricket analysts believe it is highly unlikely that a foreign player who wants to visit Pakistan at that time for security reasons.
