WASHINGTON: Mitt Romney, the Republican most
likely candidate in the presidential
elections this year in the U.S., has rejected the legitimacy of same-sex marriage, the BBC reported.
"Marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman," Romney told graduates of Liberty University, a Christian college in Lynchburg, Virginia.Romney, a Mormon by religion, was given a standing ovation.
President Barack Obama, fighting for reelection in November, announced his support for gay marriage earlier this week.
