CHENNAI: Directorate of surveillance and the fight against Corruption (DVAC) detectives have arrested a racket in the State of Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation and arrested two senior TNSTC, Vellore, and a bus driver.
TNSTC officials found to have collected Rs 12,000 for occasional drivers and drivers who promise to be included in the daily wage system. Based on a complaint lodged by Abdul Haq, an inspector with the inspection cell attached to the collectorate Vellore, Vellore, DVAC detectives raided the office by surprise on Tuesday TNSTC and bad practices found. Vellore officials Monitor and Combat Corruption has registered a case.
During surprise checks, money is not accounted for Rs 12,000 each was caught in drawers Balakumar, assistant manager (personnel) and Thulasi, superintendent (personal). Meanwhile, detectives asked DVAC Venkatesan, the personal driver of TNSTC general manager of Vellore. In his confession, police seized Rs 2.28 lakh from the house of Venkatesan in Vellore. Police arrested Balakumar, Thulasi and Venkatesan on corruption charges and jail custody in Vellore.
