Rs 565 crore black money has been detected in France

NEW DELHI: The undisclosed income of the Indians for a total of 565 million rupees R has been detected in France, according to the tax authorities on income, indicating that the Agreement on avoidance of double taxation is working.

The figure was disclosed as part of the exchange of information clause in the DTAA that India shares with France.


In 219 cases, tax authorities undisclosed income detected a total of 565 crore rupees and tax of Rs 181 million Rs have already noticed, the Public Committee CBDT told Parliament's accounts (APA ) recently.

In a presentation on the taxation of NRI, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said 30.765 pieces of inside information about suspicious transactions have been obtained by intelligence units on the ground that are being investigated by the respective agencies
.


The PAC was informed that this year New Delhi has initiated agreements to exchange tax information (TIEA) with 25 new jurisdictions.

As a result of these swap agreements, requests from field officers to foreign tax authorities have increased from 39 in 2008-09 to 386 in 2011-13. As of June 30 120 such requests have been made, the filing said.

The CBDT said in early 2009, India had 78 DTAAs, 75 of which have no provision for the exchange of banking information. With six new agreements entered into force, India has now a total of 84 such agreements with foreign countries.
