Udhagamandalam: A Jawan accused of raping the daughter of his superior officer was made to undergo a test of power in the Ooty government hospital, Nilgiris police said on Monday .
Bhupender Singh, 28, Jawan attached to the Defense, the Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington in the Nilgiris, was arrested on July 21 on charges of rape. "He was subjected to a test of power in the public hospital Ooty. The results are expected," said M Madasamy, DSP, Coonoor. "The case will be investigated further after the test report is received. The defendant is currently in judicial custody," he added.
Singh worked as an orderly at the home of the girl in the DSSC.According to police, has been charged under IPC section 376 (rape). A medical examination of the girl confirmed the July 20 rape and Singh was arrested the next day. The incident took place when the parents of the girl was at work. The girl had stayed home again and was sick.
