Botsa Satyanarayana has come to the aid of 'beleaguered' former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana

HYDERABAD: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Botsa Satyanarayana has come to the aid of 'besieged' the former minister of Venkataramana Mopidevi saying the jailed leader should also receive legal assistance after the state government agreed to reimburse the costs laws of the five ministers who face where Supreme Court.

Talking to media on Sunday, Botsa said the government must find a way to help the former minister of excise duty, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on charges of issuing guarantees of origin to issue Vanpic promoter for Nimmagadda Prasad.

Botsa said he would write to Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy seeking that attorneys' fees to the foot of Government Mopidevi. The CBI, which is investigating the quid pro quo investment scam, has already questioned Sabita, Ponnala and Dharmana in the field.

Meanwhile, opposition parties have criticized the government for providing legal assistance to the ministers who are facing these serious charges. Senior TDP leader K err Naidu said it was shameful that the government defended the ministers accused of stealing public money. Reacting sharply, state secretary of CPM BV Raghavulu wondered why the government discriminated against ministers BC (read Mopidevi) while providing legal assistance to others. At the same time, demanded the government immediately withdraw the GO extend legal assistance to the ministers concerned.

Former Congress minister P Shankar Rao also demanded that the government withdraw the GO, saying it would dent the reputation of the party.
