Hyderabad, June 27: Union Social Justice and Labour Minister Mukul Wasnik today urged the Government of Andhra Pradesh to create special courts to reduce the handling of cases related to atrocities against SC and ST in the state.
In a press conference after reviewing the implementation of the Protection of Civil Rights Act of 1955 and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989, here, Mr. Mukul said the level of caste and tribes processing cases was 70 percent in Andhra Pradesh.
Increased concern about the large number of cases pending in the state, asked the state government to establish special courts exclusive SC / ST atrocities cases.
Advise the State Government to form statewide surveillance monitoring committee under the chairmanship of Prime Minister, asked the government to convene the committee meeting once a year and every month at the district level AA, chaired by District Judge to review the progress of cases.
