Chennai, June 29: The Rs.600 crore Chennai-Ennore Port Road connectivity project will be completed next year, the Union Minister GK Vasan shipping, said Friday.He said that 32 percent of the project has been completed to date.
Presented a check for Rs.50.50 crore as equity contribution of Chennai Port Trust (Rs.43 crore) and Ennore Port (Rs.7.5 crore) to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) official said Vasan both ports to contribute a total of Rs.284.43 crore for the project.A sum of Rs.135 crores has been paid by both ports to date toward the project and the balance will be paid soon, he added.
Vasan Norway Kongsberg based company has been awarded Norcontrol Services Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) project through the port of Chennai.The project cost is Rs.9.81 crore, which includes operation and maintenance for five years and a period of one year warranty.The VTMS will soon be opened, the minister said.
