Central Government has cleared the package for Uttar Pradesh

NEW DELHI: The Central Government politics has opened a package to the tune of Rs 45,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh, giving nearly half of the demand made by the government Akhilesh Yadav.

The package includes the new tranche release of funds for projects assisted by the center which were pending due to various reasons, including failure by the state government to provide certificates of achievement.


The decision to eliminate the release of funds was taken at a meeting between the Director of the Prime Minister's, Secretary Pulok Chatterjee and senior officials of the Uttar Pradesh government, headed by Chief Secretary Javed Usmani yesterday.

While Uttar Pradesh had demanded the release of funds to the tune of Rs 93,000 crore, the Centre has agreed to release Rs 45,000 crore, state government officials described as "no mean achievement."


Several sections were trapped due to a failure by the state government to provide the number of centers with certificates of operation for the release of a fresh quantity.Sources in the state government said the total amount will not be transferred at one time and be provided in installments.Some additional funds required by Akhilesh Yadav in his meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in April could be released into the Five Year Plan 12, the sources said.
