Bangalore, June 27: A part of legislators, including ministers, who are supporting the Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda in Karnataka BJP in crisis today threatened to topple the government if Mr. Gowda is replaced.The field of BS Yeddyurappa has been pushing for a change in leadership and seeking to replace Mr. Gowda to pro-Yeddyurappa camper and Rural Development Minister Jagdish Shettar.
Speaking to reporters at Gokak in north Karnataka, today, Minister of Municipal Administration Balachandra Jarkiholi said most legislators opposed the demand for Yeddyurappa field, and if he succumbs to pressure from the central management, legislators opposed the former Chief Minister will "pull down" the government.
"We disagree with this proposal. Mr. Gowda has the support of most lawmakers. We will not remain silent if you try to make a change in leadership," said the minister, who opposes the field Yeddyurappa. Said Mr. Gowda, who was free of any controversy, had been doing a good job and his group to convince the central leadership in this area.
According to party sources, the field pro-Yeddyurappa has given an "ultimatum" to the central leaders in place of Mr Gowda June 30. Otherwise, eight minister in this area have threatened to quit the cabinet of Mr. Gowda. The camp followers have claimed that there would be a change of leadership in late June.
