Tirupati: strong reaction to the claim that Ramos Jaganmohan a sinister plot was afoot to arrest him, Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, YSR Congress chief said he had lost mental balance and was falling into meaningless rhetoric.
The CM said that Jagan was a response to public opinion on their ill-gotten wealth. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday before heading to the election campaign, Kiran dismissed allegations that the Union Minister Vayalar Ravi Jagan had a secret meeting with him, the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, director of the joint CBI V Lakshminarayana and CEO police V Dinesh Reddy postpone bypolls. Said that Jagan, his conspiracy theory, presented his ingenuity. "I knew that the decision to hold elections does not lie with the governments of the Centre or State, but with the Election Commission of India", sought to know.
Earlier, TDP leader and former mayor of Tirupati Kandati Shankar Ramos joined the Congress in the presence of CM. Sources said the CM's brother Kishore Kumar Reddy played a part in getting Congress to the fold Shankar. Shankar challenged in Tirupati TDP ticket in the 2009 elections.
Later, Congress candidates nominated her M Venkataramana amid fanfare. The former president of TTD D Adikeshavulu Naidu and School Education Minister K Parthasaradhi, which is in charge of the campaign, were present.
