Bhopal: Unable to meet the demands of dowry-laws, a woman aged 20, allegedly kept locked in a stable for three years and repeatedly raped by her husband, relatives and neighbors in a village in the district State Sagar. The hapless woman with the sexual exploitation of 36 months until it was sold to a lender of Rs 50,000 this May as their parents were not able to pay a dowry to the in-laws. When he fell seriously ill, a neighbor took her to a hospital, but he also allegedly raped her on the road. In a chance meeting, a relative of the victim was in the house the lender and reported the matter to his father.
On July 1, the woman went to the police station Rahatgarh with family and told the harrowing story, leaving the police baffled. "But they kept making demands, even after marriage. They wanted a color television, a motorcycle, a tractor and one lakh rupees in cash. He would beat my daughter and would not give her food," he said. When the girl, then 16, became pregnant - in-laws, including the brother-in-law Niraj, his wife and mother of Uma Bai Bai-in-law forced her to abort Kala. Two years after the wedding, in-laws decided they will not live with them in the same house.
The life of the unfortunate woman was even beyond the imagination of a writer in Bollywood. The In-Laws closed the girl, then 16 and pregnant, with the cows and buffaloes in the barn. For days, she had to go without food or water. A neighbor, identified as Guddu Maharaj and his friends raped her repeatedly for months in the barn.
Anand Kurmi husband, meanwhile, apparently the victim moved to the house of a relative in Khurai 25 km away. On June 28, the victim was rescued by members of his family and taken to the house of his father in Madhdevra people. Two days later, they decided to go to the police and report the matter. The police registered a case against ten persons, including husband, in-laws and other sections 498A (husband or relative subjecting woman to cruelty), 372 (selling of minors for prostitution), 376 (violation ), 363 (kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage), 450 (house trespass), 294 (obscenity), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (common intention) of IPC. Police arrested three accused, including Khadak Singh, who was raped on the way to the health center, Dwarka Prasad and lender Ram Singh, who sold to the victim.
