Andhra court asked to CBI JD official to explain calls

Hyderabad, July 02: The High Court of Andhra Pradesh, today asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) co-director, heading the investigation into the alleged illegal assets YSR Congress Party leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy and other cases high profile to explain why he made several phone calls to media.

A division bench of the acting head of Justice PK Praveen Kumar Ghose and Justice was hearing a public interest litigation in the phone calls made by the official of the CBI.

Questioning the need for calls made by VV Lakshminarayana reporters of some houses of the media, the court asked him to submit his explanation on July 9.

Petitioner alleged that Bhushan bhavanam the director of the CBI has been calling reporters together two media houses Andhra Jyothi Eenadu.

Interior Minister uUnion, the BSNL, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothi are the defendants in the case.


While official accused the CBI of hatching a conspiracy against Jaganmohan Reddy, the party claimed that he made calls to journalists from newspapers and TV stations were running a smear campaign against their leader.

YSR Congress has also criticized the CBI official to make several calls to Chandrabala, who in turn was allegedly in contact with the managing director of a group of media and a senior police officer.

Police last week booked a case against the reporter Sakshi, a Telugu daily owned by Jaganmohan Ramos, and a police inspector to make public the details of the call Chandrabala, who is also an employee of IBM.

Another case was booked on the complaint of Lakshminarayana. The Crime Investigation Department (CID) is investigating the two cases.

The Cyberabad police on Monday filed a report to the state human rights commission on the details of the call Chandrabala.
