NEW DELHI: IT giant HP today introduced solutions and services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which will serve to prepare the infrastructure for the growing mobile workforce.
The new offerings announced today include access devices such as routers and switches port, client virtualization solutions and business solutions for protection, including servers, network security and disaster recovery.
With organizations that allow employees to use their personal devices such as smartphones and Tablet PC for official use, there is a need to access, manage and protect data generated by them.
"HP Converged Infrastructure provides an ideal platform for continued safe access to data and applications," said HP Country Manager (Networking) Prakash Krishnamurti reporters.
He said that with the growing acceptance of BYOD (bring your own device) by the organizations, the "wired world has moved on a combination of wired and wireless."
Krishnamurtisaid the SMB market in India is worth $ 18 billion and the company expects a growth of 100 percent for its various products.
According to research by Gartner in 2016, about 50 percent of email users are mainly based business on a Tablet PC or a mobile phone instead of a traditional desktop computer.
The virtual desktop solution from HP allows SMEs to facilitate secure access to applications on laptops, tablets and smartphones. Even if the device is lost, the information remains protected on the server.
